Great Budget Builds Are Possible!
It was about 2 years ago when I was on a job in Weatherford Tx, about 45 min east of Ft, Worth/Dallas. I had been in the market for a truck for a few weeks at this point and I know exactly what i wanted. I was after a black 2005 4 door diesel GMC sierra. I picked the 05 because that was back in 07 and an 05 was about the right price range. As luck would have it I found one in my home town of Denver, Co. After a few calls and some neg i had a good price for a truck with 38k miles on it. I paid 26,500.00. The truck was in fantastic shape, only one owner, an older man who lived in the suburbs on the edge of Denver.
Now, this truck was completely bone stock. First off, ill point out the only items i purchased new. The rims, the tires, wheel barrings, shocks and the exhaust....that's it. Those are the only parts that i bought at market price. Even still had the original tires. So, lets get started, and only stick to the major parts. First things, intake, chip, and exhaust. The intake picked up for 100$ (399.00 at the time) on craigslist, which by the way, about 80% of the upgrades came from craigslist. Its an AEM Brute Force stage II. The second was the chip. I had and edge on my ford and liked it but instead of paying 865.00 for retail and install like i did before. I got it on the same website, for 250.00. Did the install myself, super easy, took 5 min. After that i went for the exhaust. Had to pay full price for this one. 800.00 for a custom 5" strait pipe that was built for a 4 door short bed. After the basic diesel "trinity" upgrades were done i pointed toward the suspension. I was after an 8" fab-tech lift and also wanted all the extras to go with it. Once again, i turned to craigslist. After several hrs searching my area and all the local cities (within 200 miles) i couldn't find anything. This is where a great idea came to me. Went on google and advanced searched under the cragslist domain. Bingo, found a used 8" outside of Dallas. Just off a show truck and he wanted 500.00 for it, but needed new shocks. Now, for anyone who has bought an 8" lift with all the extras your gonna spend between 4500 and 6000 depending on the brand. Now i had the lift. Replaced the wheel barrings, another 130 bucks. The wheels and tires i decided to get new, i did find some but they were the wrong offset and i don't like used tires. total of 2600.00 for those. After adding another 1300.00 for shocks, the lift was complete and myself and a friend installed it. Finally, the biggest most expensive piece so far, As I'm writing this my truck is in the shop having an ATS extreme Allison transmission installed. Brand new this tranny goes for about 8k, and another 1200 for the co-pilot(added performance to the tranny) I found the tranny, with 5 star torque converter and co-pilot for 5k.
That's about it for major parts and pieces, there are lots of small upgrades i did the same exact way. Headlights, grill guard, vent shades, even the toolbox i picked up for 20$. It did take lots of time, and many, many searches. But its all done and I saved myself thousands! All you have to do is be patent, and take your time.
Thanks

Carbon Copy Pro, my story so far
Just made the move to Grand Junction, Colorado a few weeks ago. I have to admit, its an amazing place for those of you who enjoy the outdoors! Tons of stuff to do and the weather is great.
I like many other people in the area were brought here by their work. I just happen to work in the oil and gas field as a truck pusher (supervisor) for a rig moving company based in junction servicing the western slope. As many of you may or may not know, our current governor is taking steps to make it difficult for drilling rigs to remain in the region and still turn a profit due to some new taxes. That said, the field has all but died in colorado..
In any case the work has really slowed down and the healthy checks i am used to have started to taper off. So.....For the past 2 months i have been doing tons of research on a few home based business opportunities. Out of nowhere, i ran into an old friend who had been off the radar for some time, he was telling me about this online company that he had been turned on to. So i went on a mission and did tons of research, called a few people, checked on the credibility. In the end i cant say i found anything nevative at all! the more i dug the more i liked what i saw and wanted to know more a about it. Aside from all the reasearch, it just felt right. Some of you Marketers out there know who they are. Carbon Copy Pro is the company name.
I have to admit, you have to wade through tons and tons of scam this and scam that. Its really annoying and makes someone who wants a legitimate company frustrated having to fight through the truths of whats what. So this week i went on a mission to talk to people actually involved with the company, i guess in hopes of finding some dirt or a reason not to sign up. Everyone i talked to seems to be happy with it. Some turning good numbers, some not. Either way, its game on now! There really is no big sales pitch, and im not gonna brag about the extra income thats paying off my bills. It truly sells itself. For those of you already involved, cudos:) you already know that amazing feel of freedom. So, thats my story so far. Ill be updating with some numbers soon
